Abhishek Sharma (Born 4 September 2000) is an Indian Cricketer who plays for the Indian Team. He made his debut against Zimbabwe in July 2024. He plays as left handed opener and a left arm Spin. In domestic cricket, he represents Punjab and in the IPL, he plays for Sunrisers Hydrabad. He became the number one T20I batter in 2025.

Sharma was born on 4 September 2000 in Amritsar, Punjab to Manju Sharma and Raj Kumar Sharma. He is the youngest of three, with two elder sisters Komal and Sania. He completed his schooling from Delhi Public School. He was good in studies and till 7th class he was topper in class after that due to inclined to cricketing not able to attend school regularly.
He started his cricket around 4-5 year age his father Raj Kumar has coached and helped Abhishek learn the basics of the game. His father was left arm spinner so his father earlier started coaching for left arm spinner
Starting his cricketing journey for Punjab with Shubman Gill , Sharma now opens for the Men in Blue with his dear friend and Punjab-mate. Moreover, he is often seen posing and posting pictures of his family and loved ones.

Born to Manju Sharma and Raj Kumar Sharma, he is the youngest of three, with two elder sisters, Komal and Sania.
His first coach was his father, Raj Kumar Sharma, who also used to play the game, and recognised Abhishek’s love and talent. Starting the game at a very young age, motivated by his father’s passion, the youngster secured a spot in Punjab’s youth teams.

Mr. Raj Kumar Sharma, Abhishek’s father, also used to play cricket. He worked at a bank but never let his job stop him from coaching his son. However, he could not reach the highest levels. “He always believed in me — more than anyone else ever did. That gave me the courage to take cricket seriously, even when the path looked uncertain,” said the 25-year-old cricketer.

Komal Sharma is probably the most famous family member after Abhishek himself. She’s a physiotherapist and doctor who studied at GNDU in Amritsar and later got her Master’s degree from NIMS Jaipur. She now works at S.G.R.D. Medical College.
